Criskelo ICS ROM for Rooted Galaxy Note GT-N7000!

Here’s another great ICS ROM you can try out, CriskeloROM for your rooted Galaxy Note GT-N7000. This is a really stable/fast ROM, love it, try it and let me know if you have any problems. So far so good other than Apex launcher crashing with Samsung stuff, use TouchWiz launcher if you want to use Samsung widgets.

*Note – It is NOT compatible with AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717!

  5. Tat Shing says:

    Hi,

    Cant it overclock?

  6. nanotechnos says:

    Thanks for this tutorial,

I was about to burn my note from anger, but I think I’ll give him a few days left with this new rom πŸ™‚

  7. Rohit says:

Hi Max, Can I flash this kernel using CWM?

  8. Dom says:

My GPS is not working? is this a known bug for this rom?

  9. Alvin says:

Hi~I can’t play videos on this rom. Is it a bug of it?

  10. Tejaswi Rohit says:

Tired the rom for one day. Pretty good rom but it I don’t suggest for daily usage. There is this bug, when you lock your screen the device doesn’t wake up unless you hold the power button for long time which restarts the device.
The transitions are smooth but while gaming and using applications it lags a bit.
    Face unlock doesn’t work :O
Battery backup is bad, it drained 5% of the battery while listening to music for 20 mins :O

    So I would give this rom a 2/5 .

    like ur comment. thumbs up!

  12. diedee says:

I tried to use this room.. it’s cool n smooth but there is something problem when I plug USB drive.. flash disk’s note detect in usbstorage… anybody help me please.. how to fix it…

  13. Tejaswi Rohit says:

If you don’t want to increase your flash count / make that yellow icon to appear, you can flash the kernel using the adb commands directly .

Follow instructions as in this post : https://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-recovery/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-rooted-galaxy-note/

Download the FM-Kernel extract the zip, place the zImage inside some random folder and then run the adb commands.

The above method worked for me πŸ™‚ ODIN is easy compared to all this, but this method reduces work in future.

  14. Ron Soderlund says:

    Friends,
Probably a stupid question. I have installed the Criskelo ROM and it is not that bad, but still not bug free which is not to be expected. If I would like to try another ICS ROM in the future, can I just put the new ROM on my external storage media and just install, without wiping anything? I flashed with your Abyss Kernel CW which included the CW (Thanks worked brilliantly).
    Cheers and thsanks
    Ron

  15. De Deas says:

I live in China… I can’t use my VPN or download skype with the CrisKelo ROM. I like it though. What should I do?

  16. RAJIV BOSE says:

    Dear Max,

Thanks a lot for your help in customizing my Note. I have tried all available roms for galaxy note till date and i find that Criskelo Rom is the best. Ya face unlock doesnt work but its ok. I can live without face unlock and anyways i feel swiping to unlock is much easier for me. The best thing of this rom is the battery. Its awesome. Galaxy note already gives a good backup but after installing criskelo rom its increased by atleast 50%. I play heavy graphics games, always connected to internet via either 3g or wifi, my sync & gps are always on. My brightness level is also set at max. Still i get more than 30 hrs. And its really awesome.

I strongly recommend this rom to everyone. You will also retain the samsung touchwiz apps along with the s-pen utility.

    Thanks & regards…

  17. Gulraj says:

This ROM could not come upto my expectations. It wasn’t that fast. It didn’t give me a root access.
It just kept on crashing with kind of force closes…. The worst I have ever seen until now.

Yes the only positive point was the battery. Rest = crap!

  18. TK says:

When I restore the ICS Criskelorom from backup, my Note loses root. How do I obtain root again? I tried the rooting method for a GB rom but it did not work. Thanks for your reply.

  19. SK says:

    I’m using GT-N7000
    Android Version 4.0.3
    Baseband version N7000XXLPI
    Kernel version 3.0.15-I9220ZCLP1-CL131270
Build number Criskelo Rom NOTE ICS V1

    Above is my note version.
I would like to upgrade to ICS 4.0.4 and latest Criskelo Rom.
    What should I do?
    I’m a noob in this.
I’ve rooted my phone using CWM recovery..

  20. SK says:

    Hi Max,
Will my phone have ICS 4.0.4 after I use yr recommend method?

  21. SK says:

I’ve downloaded the 3 files as yr video instructions:
    CWM
    CWM-SuperSU
    franco.Kernel-r5

    into my external SD card.
Then I pressed volume up, home button & power button.

It went into “CWM-based Recovery v5.0.2.7” instead of “Android system recovery”
    What should I do?

  22. SK says:

    Hi Max,

I’ve noticed that you said when I pressed Vol up + Home button + Power button,
it will get me into CWM recovery since I’m using Criskelo rom.
Then I did exactly the same as your video till the end.
When I checked my Note is still on ICS 4.0.3..
    What went wrong?

  23. SK says:

    Hi Max,

I’ve screwed up! My G. Note camera failed!
What I did was skip step 1.
Install CWM Super SU, then install franco Kernel.
Reboot my phone, found out i’m still on ICS 4.0.3
Then I repeat from step 1.
Install CWM, then CWM Super SU, then install franco Kernel.
Reboot my phone, still on ICS 4.0.3 with malfunction camera! πŸ™
What should I do now? Help!

  24. SK says:

Installed speedmod kernel, still camera failed to launch…

  25. SK says:

    Hi Max,
    I used this method:
    https://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-roms/how-to-unroot-to-ics-4-0-4-on-galaxy-note-gt-n7000/

Now my phone is back to stock rom, camera working fine & everything else is good.
Thanks a lot for your help!
