Looking to try out latest Lollipop ROMs for your Galaxy Note GT-N7000?
Well, I have been trying many of them and here’s some notes and recommendations.
First off, CM12.1 builds are currently not as stable as CM12 builds as I kept losing my WiFi and having signal issues. But earlier CM12 builds are very stable with pretty much everything working out of the box except Netflix playback. If you just want to try out the latest Android 5.1.1, definitely make a backup and try the CM12.1. If you need a daily driver, you may want to try CM12 with Android 5.0.2.
For performance, CM12 ROM runs pretty zippy with the stock kernel but try Forest CM12 kernel for added boost in performance. There’s no overclocking but does make it much zippier and battery life is excellent. There is a bug for all Lollipop ROMs, that Netflix doesn’t work.
Overall, CM12 is already pretty decent for the GT-N7000. Although I would like to see 1.6Ghz overclocking and working Netflix, if you don’t mind those CM12 is definitely doable as daily driver for now. So definitely give these bad boys a try this week(end) and do let me know what you think!
Download CM12 ROM w/ Android 5.0.2 for Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (Recommended for daily driver)
Download Android 5.0 Gapps (Grab the pico version)
Download Android 5.1 Gapps (DO NOT USE older Gapp as you will FC!!!)
Please make sure you have CWM Recovery v220.127.116.11 or higher to install! If you don’t, please update, see our CWM/TWRP Recovery page. (Also TWRP v18.104.22.168 or higher will work too!)
For installation directions on GT-N7000, please follow How to Install Android 4.4 KitKat ROM on Galaxy Note GT-N7000! For GT-N7000, also install the CM11 Forest Kernel for 1.6Ghz overclocking and much faster performance.
To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, and reboot. (If for some reason you end up in a bootloop or get force-closed keyboard error on boot, reboot into CWM recovery, go to Mounts & Storage->format /system. For TWRP, go to Wipe->Advanced Wipe->Wipe /system.)
