Maybe a n00b question, but do you have to unroot the phone in order to install the stock ROM,or can I just install it over the custom ROM I have now, just like installing any other custom ROM?Thanks for the help…

  6. Roberto Cruz says:

Hi Max, I have a custom rom running on my galaxy note i1717. Can I use cwr to install the stock rogers rom? And by doing that, will I lose my root and cwr? Thanks in advance

  7. Eric says:

Can someone help me with unrooting my Bell Galaxy note with the right download links.

  8. Ginkgo says:

You have a bit of an error on this article, you write that it’s for the I717M which is Bell’s version which you don’t have posted here anywhere (I found it somewhere else can’t remember now) Rogers’ is the I717R (just read the file name for the file you have linked).

  10. Mike (n00b) says:

Hi Max, what should I do after installing this ROM to make it work on T-Mobile? Is it any modem out there or something… Thanks! You Rocks bro!

  11. Irate Pirate says:

yeah,I use the blaze on my Rogers note, works good

  12. Gids says:

The rogers file is a zip not a tar and even if you extract and make use of the .img odin rejects it. If you make it use the zip like a tar it gets refused or odin crashes.
How do you use the rogers rom?

  13. Gids says:

I retract my above statement.. I had tried the wrong file.

    This md5 is correct.

  14. Tom says:

I’m trying to install this on top of my gingerbread galaxy note however upon using ODIN to upgrade the firmware.. it gets stuck on mdm.bin, then when I restart the phone, it’s telling me “Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.” Is there anyway of fixing this? looks like i’ve bricked my phone.

Here’s what I get as I get to around 80% mark then it gets an error:

    Odin v.3 engine (ID:5)..
    File analysis..
    Get PIT for mapping..
    Firmware update start..

    Complete(Write) operation failed.
All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
