For this week’s ROM of the week on the AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717, check out latest version of BeanStalk ROM.

Based on latest Android 4.3.1, BeanStalk ROM brings you a TON of customization and the latest multi-window features (ported from Omni ROM).

With this ROM, you will be able to multi-task using multi-window feature even without a TouchWiz ROM!  Of course, this multi-window isn’t perfect yet and you cannot resize it but still gets the job done.

Other notable features include PIE control, HALO floating notifications, Xposed App Settings, custom animations, and lots more.

If you are looking to experience the latest AOSP multi-window, definitely give BeanStalk ROM a test drive this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

Download:

Download BeanStalk ROM for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717

Download Android 4.3 Gapps (for all, DO NOT USE Android 4.2 Gapps, they will FC!)

To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps and reboot.   (If for some reason you end up in a bootloop, reboot into recovery, go to Advanced Wipe for TWRP or Mounts & Storage for CWM, format/wipe /system, then re-install ROM.)

Download Flash Player APK (if you want flash player)

DownloadAndroid 4.3 PhotoSphere (if you want photosphere, but may force close so make a backup of your Gallery app using Titanium Backup app before installing!  )

If you want to run your apps in tablet/hybrid/custom DPI mode, see our Xposed App Settings guide.

If you want some awesome audio, check out Viper4Audio FX MOD, which you can install on this ROM to enhance your music 100%.

hi nice to meet you and i was wondering when are you going to get the update for padawan ???? casue i have the padawan 2 but thats it 4.1.2 and i cant upgrade any other oss on my samsung i717. Maybe due to the size cause the padawan is 800 something size and any other is less than 200meg so that could be the other case. so please let me kno if or where i can get the update of padawan thank you again.

    • Max says:

Just try formatting /system, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, and reboot. Exactly in that order, don’t do the dalvik stuff.

  9. liv says:

It is a wonderful piece of programming. BUT the phone goes too hot and the battery melts away too fast.
I have to go back to my trustworthy CM10.1.

Guys, please try and solve the problem of the power drain.

    Thank you.

At this point, I’m thinking we need a checklist so we can compare pros and cons of ROMS for this phone before spending days all coming to the same conclusion.

You have to be a developer to comment on xda, or take time to get in your 10 general forum posts (who has that kind of time to waste in a crowd?) So, here we all are, unable to get real problems fixed on the ROMS, or to know if they ever got fixed without wading through 137 pages before you load it and see if it got fixed. I do enjoy flashing roms and I’m great at internet searches, but the xda forums seem an inefficient way for users to wade through things.

Right now, my list is better battery, decent speed (1-2 seconds to get to phone, app, camera), working video, camera (and a GOOD camera…doesn’t have to have photosphere, but has to get me good control and features, do love Google’s spot focus/blur, but cannot get the video to work even on 4.4.2), and youtube. It seems broken on 4.4.2.

  11. pollirox79 says:

  12. pollirox79 says:
