For those of you who have heard about the OnePlus One smartphone, you are probably somewhat interested in getting one or perhaps crazy about it (like some are).  (Don’t know what OnePlus One is?  See our OnePlus One unboxing video!)

Whatever the case, did you know you can essentially get all of the software features on OnePlus One thanks to custom ROMs?  By installing CM11 ROM along with our HighOnAndroid OnePlus One Conversion kit, you will be able to turn your Galaxy Note (GT-N7000 and SGH-i717) or Galaxy Note 10.1 into a full-fledged OnePlus One smartphone/tablet in no time.

Unfortunately there exists no CM11 Snapshots (which are preferred) but thankfully there are unofficial versions which are pretty good in my opinion.  If this is something along the lines of what you have been waiting for, definitely give this combo a go this week(end) and do let me know what you think!

Basic Instructions:

To install, reboot into recovery, make backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, install Conversion Kit, and reboot.  (If for some reason you end up in a bootloop or get force-closed keyboard error on boot, reboot into CWM recovery, go to Mounts & Storage->format /system.  For TWRP, go to Wipe->Advanced Wipe->Wipe /system.)

Hi Max and everyone, I know that this is not the place to post my comment or rather Query, but I have no other place to ask this. Max I really need your help on this..

I am usnig Samsung Galaxy Note N7000, running CyanogenMod 11 latest nightly, Android 4.4.4.
After using MIUI Launcher from google play store for quite a while I have grown a lot of interest towards this launcher and later saw some videos of MIUI ROM and now I want to try MIUI ROM. But in the entire MIUI thread I havent been able to find any thread talking about how to Flash MIUI ROM on devices already running custom roms and that too on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. So someone please help me flash my mobile with MIUI ROM.

My phone is an at_t I717 when I try to install CM11 in clockwork mod I get an error message saying
“this file is for a I717. Your device is a i717. Please tell me how to fix this. Thank-you
    Tim

  8. Rich says:

Installed…was looking for a Jellybean radio…installation aborted because i don’t have the latest radio.

  9. Rich says:

It says i need later than UCMD3 radio but UCMD3 is the latest i can find.

  10. Rich says:

whoops…forgot to mention i’m on ATT Note i717

  11. Rich says:

nevermind…the UCMD3 flash never took…redid it and now I have this all installed. Only thing is camera doesn’t work and Play store wont load right now.

  12. Rich says:

One Plus One camera doesn’t work and a REALLY annoying issue is once the phone is a sleep..pressing the power button to bring the screen back up only lights up the buttons at the bottom…no screen. I have to press the power button a few times just to get the screen to show up.

If it wasn’t for my phone/battery seeming to be faster/last longer on 4.4.4….i’d go back to damn 4.0.4 where there was no issues…just lag and old features.

    • NewfiePrince says:

I was having the sleeping screen freezing problem also. I change my processor to Ondemand and I/O cfq this improved the screen problem .

      • Rich says:

I ended up flashing to CM10.1 but had problems there and then went to CM9.1 and that works best on my old Note. I get my Note 3 back this week thank God.

  13. YSL says:

Installed on my i717 on CM11 4.4.2 as 4.4.4 causes a black background.
Flashed the ConversionKit v1.2 and systemui keeps crashing non-stop

    Hi Max,
I appreciate your works. I use note 10.1 n8000 and i try the one plus one rom. I was a bit dissapointed. There’s no message app, camera doesn’t work very well when I switch from camera to video, it suddently stops working.. I prefer the gnabo rom. the best rom!! Anyways good job!!

  20. heezay says:

hello… i already upgared this.. all function is ok.. but my battery drain fast… can u hellp mee…

  21. chip says:

Looks nice but it kills my battery, on this I717, just looking at it. Juicedefender not helping. Underclocked (1350max), removed some apps that load at boot and Juicedefender aet at agressive among some other minor things and I can watch the battery life drain away. Sitting idle with screen off this morning for a few hours took 5% or so. Restoring apps after installing the ROM took about 75% in a 3-4 hours last night.

    Am I doing something worng?

  22. José Luis says:

  26. Bernie says:

    Hello,

I’ve downloaded the ROM for sgh-i717, followed the basic instructions, but got s this error:

error executing updater binary in zip FAILED.

What may be the problem, please?

  27. Babz says:

superb ROM i like it but my GT N7000 phone getting overheat ………. please give me the solutions

  28. Temin says:

    Max,
There seems to be some bug in the “HighOnAndroid OnePlus One Conversion kit”. “unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped”
is coming up often when I unlock the phone from lock screen. This is due to the custom lock screen. If I disable that or keep unlock method as none(which disables the entire thing), problem stopped.

Hope that you can solve the problem for me. At present I’m not able to use the one plus locksreen.

    Thanks,

  29. I want To ask you about the last android version 5.0 Lollypop & when it will available for GT-N7000

  30. Bill Mill says:

    Thanks for your great site!
I tried to get 4.4.4 with CM Mod as you suggest.
The install fails as it cannot verify that I have Jelly Bean radios.
    I have a Telus i717d.
I went back to an earlier video and am happily running the Beanstalk 4.3 – the 4.4 needed radios too.
    Any suggestions?

    Happy 2015!

  31. Steve says:

CM11 is a good ROM for my SGH-i717. It resolved my problem with bluetooth failures when reconnecting to Ford MyTouch.

How do you get rid of the Google search bar on the home page? I got rid of it off the lock screen.

I may just go with the basic CM11 ROM install.

The Galaxy Note i717 is getting old so I don’t expect there will be much more new development on it.

    Great job Max!

    • Steve V says:

A few problems have cropped up. Same as rich above. When phone is asleep, press power button several times to get the screen.
Disabling hardware overlays won’t stay disabled causing flicker or blackout of text entry screen.
Is there a official or stable vesion of cm11 for Galaxy Note SGH-I717.

  32. redd says:

cm11 and other kitkat roms crash on my i717 over and over again. ive done a system format numorious times and used pollutions rom patch but no help full factory reset and all. please help

  33. wihi48 says:

My i717 has a problem so PLZ HALP ME! I cant download one plus one and i REALLY want it! I m using cwm v 6.0.4.3 and my device is rooted. it seems whenever i download it it says that they cant verify the radio model… and something got to do with “/tmp/test_radio_version.sh” and “I717 : UCMD3” and at the end they say == 0

Dont really know what it means but if someone helps me, it will be an honor 😀

  34. Neo says:
