For this week’s Galaxy Note GT-N7000 ROM of the week, check out Asylum Omni ROM with Android 4.4 KitKat.

UPDATE: Please see latest version with Android 4.4.2 KitKat HERE!!!

Similar to the Omni ROM featured last week, Asylum Omni ROM is based on Omni ROM but specifically built for GT-N7000 with a slight theme and lots of Asylum wallpapers.

The best part? Asylum Omni ROM has everything working out of the box including utmost important camcorder, video replay, and YouTube.

Asylum Omni ROM also features some of Omni ROM customization in Settings, which is not much but way better than running 100% stock Android 4.4 KitKat.  Omni ROM also features its famed “multi-window” feature, which is currently not working correctly on Android 4.4 KitKat but should be fixed in the near future builds.

Overall, Asylum Omni ROM brings you full 100% Android KitKat experience along with some Omni customization which may be used as a daily driver.  So, definitely give this guy a test drive over the week(end) and do let me know what you think!

  3. Anthonio says:

The rom is not bad at this stage. But for people like me who have plenty of application installed, we would like to transfer some to sd card. App2sd keeps breaking; the same with clean master. Battery life is sort of miserable too.Until now I can’t say I have a good feeling of kitkat…

  4. nvrmndryo says:

  8. riza says:

installed but already packed with preinstalled apps.
i can’t even install another apps..it always shows insufficient disc storage..
is there anyway to eliminate some of the files on ROM zip file or i can just delete the APK file in system/app??

  9. Anthonio says:

The only way you can move apps to sd is to use DU speed booster. It breaks seveal times though.
My feeling the developers don’t master this version of android yet!

  20. Mitch says:

This is a fantastic ROM that breathes new life into our (now old) N7000. The active XDA forum for this ROM is active daily and nightly ROM updates(improvements) are available on an almost daily basis. I have been running this ROM for a few months – its not perfect and it may be geared more for advanced users but it is amazing that is available to us for free.

  21. Prashant says:

  24. Diana says:

Great rom at the time my note its really fast . I made root and rom same day , I was tired of slow performance on 4.1.2 since here there is no update yet . Great guide and easy to follow. Kudos !

  25. Mario says:

For fast running reliable temporary internet, leave it to the experts.
In ten years we could begin to see a reduction in
the number of people signing up tto cable DSL, instead turning to
    companies offering mobile broadband connections.
As the data was apparently gathered by mistake inside the interest of developing a forward thinking product,
its unlikely Google will go in the defensive and ague fantastic locally
    to this review.

  26. Diana says:

Sharing internet as tethering & portable hotspot doesn’t work

  27. Diana says:

Xda already shows **[4.4.2][Omni][Linaro]Team Asylum Omni 4.4.2 Naughties™: Slim, Fast and Black Rum™**
