TWRP Recovery and ClockworkMod Touch Recovery for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717!

For those of you who want to enable USB mount in recovery, you can try TWRP Recovery (which you can flash in CWM Recovery and reboot to recovery under Advanced menu). This could be a great way to connect your internal storage as a USB disk drive if you happen to end up in soft-brick bootloop for some reason.

Now, remember that TWRP backup/restore functionality isn’t compatible with CWM Recovery so if you need to restore ROM that you backed up in CWM Recovery, you can also flash back CWM Touch Recovery in TWRP and reboot recovery to get it back.

*NOTE – PLEASE ONLY FLASH IF YOUR GALAXY NOTE MODEL NUMBER BEGINS WITH SGH-I717 (YES, YOU CAN USE ON CANADIAN MODELS ALSO) BUT PLEASE DO NOT FLASH ON GT-N7000!

Is there a special driver you need to install to mount the USB Storage from TWRP in Windows? Windows detects the device as a CDC Serial and SAMSUNG_Android device nd begins to download a driver from Windows Update, but once it tries to install it then says “device unplugged” and fails. What’s the trick to getting USB Storage from TWRP to work in Windows?

first of all, thanks for all your videos and tutorials. but could you make a video in how to flash TWRP in CWM, and how to flash back CWM Touch Recovery in TWRP. I would really like to install one of the jelly bean roms you have in your other videos that need TWRP.

The easiest way for me to enter cwm is while the phone is still powered on hold down both the volume up and down keys. while still holding them down hold down the power button also. the phone will shut down and vibrate a few times. release the power button, then the volume keys and it should boot you right into cwm. Feel free to email me if you need any further assistance. kmkmob@hotmail.com
