How to Unlock SIM on your AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717! [Bell/Rogers/Telus]

If you want to enable T-Mobile voice and data on your AT&T Galaxy Note, you will need to unlock SIM on your AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717 first.

Step 1. Dial *#06# in your Dialer.

Step 2. Write down the IMEI number you get.

Step 3. Go to Cellunlocker.net. (You can also use any other cellular unlocking service of your choice. I just used this one since it came up first on Google.)

Step 4. Choose i717 Galaxy Note 4G LTE or the phone you have. It should also work for Rogers/Telus/Bell.

Choose AT&T for carrier.
Enter your IMEI number.

Step 5. You can pay like $24.95 to unlock your phone. You should receive your unlocking code within 5-10 minutes in your e-mail.

Step 6. Reboot your phone after putting T-Mobile SIM card in (or any other SIM card that’s non-AT&T).

Step 7. When your phone reboots, it will ask you for the Network Lock Control Key. Enter the Network key you got in your e-mail and it should unlock your AT&T Galaxy S2.

Now your AT&T Galaxy S2 should be able to use T-Mobile voice and edge speeds for internet. For 3G/4G, you will have to install a T-mobile modem, which is coming next.

FAQ

Q: I am still not getting any signal on T-Mobile!
A: This guide was written originally for Gingerbread.  It’s most likely because you are running ICS.  You can install an ICS modem instead to get it working, get it here.

OK, I’d be interested in unlocking my Galaxy Note, but the instructions:

Step 1. Dial *#06# in your Dialer.
Step 2. Write down the IMEI number you get.

aren’t working for me. I just get a message that says “mobile network not available”.

Do I need to have an AT&T SIM card first? I bought my phone used, but it does not include an AT&T SIM card. Since I mostly plan to use as a WiFi mini tablet, that was OK with me, but then I found your site and thought it might be good to unlock it just in case I ever want to use as a phone.

I have never owned a smart phone of any kind before. Just this. My real cell phone is a Tracfone.

    Hi,
I have an International Note this is unlocked. I think my problem is easy, but I can’t seem to fix it. I’m running it on Tmobile. I realize that I will operate at edge speed, but I’m okay with that. I can’t open the files that I receive via email or text. I get the message, but not the attachments. Any suggestions? Thanks…

I’m looking into getting a Note and having all the goodies done to it for T-Mobile as you have generously supplied us with the tutorials. I’d like to future-proof myself with this phone. I see that HSPA+ is attainable for this phone but will it be ready for T-Mobile’s roll out of their LTE network in a couple of quarters from now?

I bought a used phone on ebay, called at&t and they gave me unlock code. They didn’t care if I had an account (they asked, I said no). If the phone has been paid for, or has a finished up contract, then no need to pay for unlock. Took me two minutes.

Guys if you are with AT&T then don’t pain with any of those methods to unlock. It’s quite smooth actually. Vindicatory phone AT&T and let them you hump that you present be move and need to unlock the sound to use foreign sims. They module ask you for the phones IMEI sort then engage you with an unlock encrypt. You then superpower up your pattern with any abroad sim (any added than AT&T give use), it faculty ask you for write, you participate it, and through. Your pattern is now unlocked and independent to use with any GSM chip. Have finished it with our 4 phones 2 GS2 and 2 GS Notes.

I have been reading up on all your suggestions and “fixes” to the Galaxy’s and was wondering if you have a solution for unlocking an AT&T I717 that has been blacklisted? I bought it on eBay and the guy gave me the IMEI to ck out and it was good…after I got it and tried to unlock it to T-Mobile (which is who I have my acct with), it came back blacklisted?? call AT&T and they confirmed! now i’m stuck :(
    Any ideas?
also, I have a Droid XT912 that I was trying to get to work on T-Mobile for my daughter (she got it from her boyfriend, its on Verizon), is this possible or do you not work on these phones?
Thanx for everything in advance..keep up the work for the “non-teckies” like me :)
