For this week’s ROM of the week for AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-i717, check out the Avatar ROM. Based on CM10 Android 4.1.2, Avatar ROM brings you stability/speed of CM10 ROM plus MIUI theme/toggles. It’s a pretty cool ROM for those of you who constantly like to change theme on your phone while keeping your phone running fast with CyanogenMod ROM’s underlying software guts.

JamieD81from xda just released it 😀 , I don’t think my link got accepted to the video preview before it was released but can’t wait to get home ;D

  8. Dustin says:

I installed this on my i717 and noticed it lost a phone signal randomly. Also there was no audio when making or receiving phone calls. Has anyone else had this issue? otherwise it was very fast and stable.
Very depressing that it didn’t work. Anyone know a fix for this?

Also most of the lock screen themes were not formatted properly to fit the note screen size. The sliders floated left instead of centered.

really nice rom so far.. works good – havn’t found any bugs. SGH-I717R

  10. Richie Rico says:

Nice stable jellybean rom…but does it seem to be sucking the life outta the battery very quickly? Is that possible? I feel since I flashed this, my battery drains so quickly. Just this morning, barely using it, it dropped about 15% in an hour. I even have a huge battery in here. Seems to take forever to charge too.

  11. brandon says:

hello all i need a little help i tried installing this rom but keep getting a error, i wiped clean also cleared the cache, can any point me in the right direction thanks in advance.

  12. Eddin says:

I installed the ROM successfully, but my home button is not working, is this normal?

  13. Richie Rico says:

Back to stock ICS for me…too many crashes with stuff and even reboots. Annoying. Can’t wait for Note 3.

  14. rekamyenoM says:

Installed on my T879. Liking this ROM a lot. Buttery Smooth for me. No Issues

  15. rekamyenoM says:

I believe after installing Many Many Many ROMs that there are many Variables. Everything has to be just right to get it just right. I have this ROM running 100% no issues no problems. Very Fast very smooth.

  16. Ran into problem with this rom from the start. Bad data connection was the last straw to dump this rom.
I’ll stick to BlackStar X. The most stable rom I feel is out at the moment for the SGH-I717.

    • Rico says:

same here! I was constantly losing data connection and wondering WTF was up. I’m on Padawan 8 now..there just always seems to be something about Jellybean roms taht don’t work right for me. I usually just stick Apex ontop of it anyway.

I’m a lil intrigued by Paranoid 3 though…but sick of flashing and reinstalling everything again.

      • If you like Padawan you will more than likely love Blackstar X. Padawan was my rom before I installed BlackStar. Very stable for every day use.

        • daferrill says:

Yep I find Black star x was the most stable on my note , try the Aosp theme in the ota section 🙂 I move on to the nexus 4 today 😀 no more stanking touch wiz

  17. owen says:

Hey, New to flashing and all this stuff, i unlocked my galaxy note I717, and The first ROM i flashed was blackstar but i didn’t like that one, i then tried to flash this ROM to my phone, but i keep getting the ERROR 7, unsuccessful attempt in TWRP, i tried to use superuser, but again it didn’t work, i tried checking different SD card slots, then i took out the external SD but again it didn’t work, The zip file is there before i send it to my cell phone, is there an area in the sd card that i’m supposed to put it? I just cut it from my dl folder and paste it into the main folder that has DCIM and Media etc etc.. Is there anything i can do? I’d really like to get this ROM, thanks to anyone who helps!
