For those of you who want to install custom ROMs, I HIGHLY advise you to make a backup of your stock ROM beforehand. Also, you can use the backup/restore feature on the ClockworkMod Recovery to backup and restore your ROM. The ROM refers to your whole system and backing up your ROM backs up everything including your settings, apps, and data except for contents of your internal storage such as photos and videos.

You can also use ClockworkMod Recovery to backup up several different custom ROMs and restore them whenever you want.

To backup ROM, re-boot into ClockworkMod Recovery and use the Backup and Restore menu to backup.
To restore ROM, re-boot into ClockworkMod Recovery and use the Backup and Restore menu to restore.

You can also backup/restore to internal storage OR external micro-SD card.

I have a problem. My micro SD card – Sandisk SDXC 64 GB Ultra can’t mount in ROM ClockWorkMod Recovery (“Error mounting /external_sd!”). This SD card is successfully formatted in GT-N8010. Any idea ?

Hey man, I got my 8013 rooted, but when I went to create a back up following your instructions, it went into android stock recovery, not cwm recovery. I ran into this problem during root, however after turning off auto-reboot and then pressing vol up and power until logo, and then letting go power I was able to reboot. Now I cannot get it into cwm at all starting from completely off. Can you help?

I had the same problem, re-rooting my note let me back into the cwm. I think we will have to do this each time we access cwm, for some reason when we fully boot the asr takes over.

    Hey Max,

I have a Samsung N8010 , I used your method to flash the CWM but I kept on going to the stock recovery instead of the CWM recovery, but someone in the comments had said to unclick auto shutdown on the Odein program and press on the power and volume up botton.. this worked.. now Im thinking of installing a new ROM but cant seem to get in to the CWM recovery…..

    what should I do???
