For this week’s Note 10.1 ROM of the week, check out Omni ROM with Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
Available for GT-N8000 or GT-N80XX (such as GT-N8010/GT-N8013), Omni ROM brings you the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat to Note 10.1 users everywhere.

The only thing missing? Video recording does not work so if you use this often, definitely stick with an older Android 4.3 AOSP ROMs.

Overall, Omni ROM’s features are nearly identical to its phone version, featuring full Android 4.4.2 KitKat experience along with customization Omni Team brings.

I am pretty satisfied at the moment since I don’t use video recording on my Note 10.1 but if you really need to have Android 4.4.2 KitKat “now”, it’s here for you to try. So, give it a test drive over the week(end) and do let me know what you think!

This is a GREAT Rom. You should give it a shot and give it a run, you won’t regret it.

  2. Arnold says:

The link for the CWM update is one for a 6.0.3.6
    You said we needed 6.0.4.3

My question is, will the 6.0.3.6 work? If not, can you provide a link to one with 6.0.4.3 or greater?

    thanks!

  3. Gary says:

I put 4.4.2 KitKat on my Note 10.1
It worked well apart from the battery wouldn’t charge

  4. Warren B says:

Strange, I never had any battery problems with this ROM. In fact, things with my battery got better! For the first time, I am able to simply plug the USB cord directly into the computer instead of a charger and charge my tablet. As an computer engineering who has to spend their time in a computer lab a lot (with the power strips sometimes hard to find) that is a very handy feature to have.

  5. Alex says:

What if I used odin3 to root my device? Can I still flash it from recovery mode?

  6. Alex says:

Hey Max, this is the same guy who was Commenting on your Google plus message. I’m still new to the whole rooting thing. I used odin3 to root my device. It’s a galaxy note 10.1 gt-n8013. I don’t have a rom manager or a clockworkmod or anything like that. Since its a wifi version the bootloader is already unlocked and I tried to flash this rom using recovery mode and it said could not verify whole package and also another failure. What an I doing wrong

    • Max says:

Make sure you are in CWM recovery, sometimes it may get deleted by the system, it sound like you are in stock recovery.

  7. Alex says:

Yeah I’m stock recovery. All I’ve done so far is root the device so it’s still stock just rooted. So I need to download clockworkmod and run the device in cam recovery mode.

  8. Alex says:

I tried clockworkmod but it says my device is not supported

  9. George says:

Hi, Im using this ROM and feels great, only thing I noticed is Smart Stay is missing, is this feature not included or I have some issues installing the ROM?

    Thanks

  10. Amr says:

Hi Max, i have done every thing but i’m having issues to install the Google Apps 4.2.2 it gives me a message that is a bad file and can’t extract it. every time i deleted and copied back.
I make sure that i open the Google Apps Zip file from computer and it works fine. Do you have any idea about this.
i never had this problem with PACman…. please advice and Thanks for your attention

  11. Newton says:

Hello, can you please help on backing up of current ROM because I was getting errors like “no /sdcard/.android_secure found”
“No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext.”
    “Generating md5 sum…….”
    Backup complete! Please help.

  12. Ankit says:

If yes , then how and suggest me some ..& thnx mate.

    • Max says:

There is font changer app but be careful and make a backup ROM beforehand, sometimes it can get you soft bricked.

  14. Ankit says:

Thnx dude , I’m not going to change the fonts lol , but yaa downloadin the gnabo ROM for my gtn8000 , any suggestions or precautions ?

  15. mija says:

    Hi max,
