Personally, I think the Note 10.1 is better suited for Note-oriented applications and multi-tasking with its new multi-window features but you should be glad to know that you can also run pure Android 4.2.1 ROMs like CM10.1 to turn your Note 10.1 into a Nexus 10.
This ROM isn’t for everyone nor do I recommend it unless you are seriously high on Android or like tinkering in your free time but CM10.1 official nightlies are available.
The CM10.1 ROM offers you full Android 4.2.1 experience (let’s you see what’s coming also with Samsung’s future software updates) with multi-user support and lockscreen widgets. CM10.1 ROM also adds few extra features to Android 4.2.1 and it is definitely one of the more stable ROMs you can install.
So, if you are interested in such a thing, CM10.1 is available for you to try, give it a test drive and let me know what you think!
For installation, here’s a fail-proof method: Reboot into CWM Recovery, do data wipe/factory reset, install ROM, do wipe cache, then reboot. If you end up in a bootloop, do exact process one more time although it should work the first time.
Also, if for some reason you don’t get Play Store, you can flash Gapps after getting the ROM booting.
